From complex systems to clear explanations.

Briley Braun is the international pen name of Birgit Maria Braun, a Senior ERP Consultant and business process specialist with more than a decade of experience in enterprise systems.

Her journey into enterprise software began in Vancouver, Canada, where she spent more than six years living and working. She started at SAP’s Vancouver office in a customer service role and gradually moved deeper into business applications, eventually becoming a CRM Application Specialist. Combined with her academic background in North American Cultural Studies, those years shaped both her international perspective and her approach to communicating complex topics clearly.

Today, based in Germany, Briley works at the intersection of people, processes, and technology. She collaborates closely with users and key users to understand pain points, improve workflows, and develop practical solutions to real business problems. Her work also reaches into the technical side of ERP — from investigating complex source code and underlying system logic to working with interfaces that connect different technologies.

Early in her ERP career, she often struggled to find guidance that was both practical and easy to understand. Technical documentation could be overwhelming, while business resources were often buried under buzzwords and corporate jargon.

That experience inspired The ERP Coffee Break Series: short, system-agnostic guides designed to make essential ERP knowledge understandable in the time it takes to enjoy a cup of coffee.

The perspective

Understand the business behind the screen.

The strongest ERP solutions rarely begin with software. They begin with understanding what people are trying to achieve, how work really flows, and where the system fits into that picture.

01

See the connections

ERP becomes easier to understand when individual screens are connected to the wider business process.

02

Bridge business and technology

Briley’s work moves between user needs, process design, system logic, source-code analysis, and interfaces — always with the business outcome in view.

03

Keep it practical

Concepts matter most when people can recognize them in real roles, decisions, handoffs, and everyday work.

Why “Briley”?

A name with a personal beginning.

The name Briley was suggested by her daughter as an internationally friendly alternative to Birgit Maria — and it stuck immediately.

It became the natural author name for a series designed to speak to ERP readers across countries, industries, and software ecosystems.

“Make ERP easier to understand, one coffee break at a time.”
The promise

No unnecessary corporate fog.

One focused idea. Roughly fifteen minutes. A clearer view of ERP than you had when you started your coffee.
